Kettering is located approximately 15 miles north east of Northampton, 26 miles south east of Leicester, 31 miles south west of Peterborough, 37 miles east of Coventry, 55 miles east of Birmingham and approximately 81 miles to the north east of London.

Kettering’s economy was built on the boot and shoe industry. With the arrival of railways in the 19th Century, industries such as engineering and clothing grew. Kettering’s economy is now based on service and distribution industries due to its central location and transport links. The unemployment rate is relatively low with a high proportion of adults in full time education. It is home to a wide range of companies including Weetabix, Pegasus Software, RCI Europe, Timpsons Limited and Morrisons Distribution as well as Wicksteed Park, the United Kingdom’s oldest theme park.
